Kendall Bruning

2023 Inductee

From her dominant high school career to her impactful collegiate performances, Kendall Bruning consistently demonstrated exceptional talent on the softball diamond.

During her time at Ridgeland High School, Bruning established herself as a four-year cornerstone of the team. Her consistent excellence earned her an unprecedented four selections to the Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of Preps and four consecutive nods to the Walker/Catoosa Dream Team. As a hitter, she amassed an impressive .428 batting average, driving in 66 runs with 33 doubles and launching 3 home runs. Her prowess extended to the pitcher's circle, where she recorded 46 wins, maintained a remarkable .93 earned run average, and struck out an astounding 608 batters.

Continuing her softball journey at Chattanooga State Community College, Bruning made an immediate impact. As a freshman, her stellar play earned her Second Team All-Region VII honors. Her sophomore campaign was nothing short of phenomenal, as she led all junior college players with 21 home runs. Her dominant pitching also propelled the Tigers to the NJCAA Women's College World Series, boasting a 23-5 record on the season.

Bruning's talent and achievements led her to the University of Mississippi, where she further etched her name in the record books. As a Rebel, she accumulated 267 career strikeouts and made 59 career starts. Her senior year was particularly noteworthy, as she took the circle for 33 starts, pitched an impressive 206 innings, and recorded 136 strikeouts.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Bruning excelled academically, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She currently utilizes her analytical and organizational skills as a planning specialist.
