Adding to his remarkable high school achievements, Scott was a member of TEAM USA that captured the Championship in the Dominican Republic in 1998.
Scott holds the distinction of being the first Ridgeland High School graduate to play and letter varsity in three major sports for all four years. His exceptional athletic abilities and academic excellence paved the way for collegiate opportunities. Initially signing to play football for East Tennessee State University, Scott ultimately chose to pursue baseball, playing at Chattanooga State and Southern Polytech in Atlanta, Georgia. His success continued at Chattanooga State, where he earned NJCAA All-American honors for both his athletic and academic achievements. He graduated college Magna Cum Laude, demonstrating the same commitment to excellence he displayed at Ridgeland.
Returning to his roots and passion for athletics, Scott embarked on a successful coaching career. He started the baseball program from the ground up at Silverdale Baptist Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee, before returning to his alma mater to lead the Ridgeland High School baseball program. This season marked a significant milestone as he earned his 300th win as a high school baseball coach. Under his guidance, over 100 student-athletes have gone on to sign college scholarships, continuing their playing careers – a testament to his impactful leadership and mentorship.
Scott's connection to Ridgeland runs deep. Growing up in the area, he even helped build the original baseball field at the age of seven. He has remained an integral part of youth athletics in the community and at Ridgeland, shaping the lives of countless young athletes.
